Biogas plants in the district of Osnabrück
Description
A biogas plant is used to produce biogas by fermenting biomass. In agricultural biogas plants, animal excrements (waste, solid manure) and energy crops are used as substrates. Material from the biotonne is used in non-agricultural plants. A by-product is a fertiliser known as fermentation residue. For most biogas plants, the resulting gas is used locally in a combined heat and power plant (CHP) for electricity and heat generation.
