Description
Waste disposal facilities are fixed and operated disposal facilities for transhipment, temporary storage and/or treatment of waste. Due to their performance limits or plant size, especially in terms of throughput and total storage capacity, they are requested and approved in accordance with the Federal Immission Protection Act (BImSchG). Changes to the situation, nature or operation must be notified in due time to the Environment and Energy Authority — Waste Management Department or, depending on the impact.
One special case is the construction and operation of landfills and their changes. You need a plan approval according to the Circular Economy Act (KrWG). Changes to the situation, condition or operation must also be notified or requested in good time.
