Employment participation; change of non-working population 2003-2022
Description
This table shows data on persons aged 15 to 75 in the Netherlands, with the exception of persons in establishments, institutions and homes (institutional population). The table shows figures on changes in the employment position of persons. Central to this are changes from the non-working population to the working labour force. Per quarter and per year, the employment position of persons at that time and the employment position is given a quarter and a year earlier respectively. For the quarter, it is possible to describe how many people have changed positions in three months. For example, the number of people from the non-working population in the first quarter of 2015 belonged to the working population a quarter later. The same can be done in this table for the year: how many people have changed positions in 12 months. For example, how many people from the non-working population in 2013 belong to the employed labour force in 2014. The non-working population is divided into different categories. The table shows both numbers and percentages. For example, of the non-working population in the 1st quarter of 2015, 161 thousand were employed in the labour force a quarter later. Of these, 46 thousand people did not want to work in the 1st quarter due to the education/study, which is 29 percent.
Due to changes in the EBB’s research design and questionnaire, a revision of the standing figures for the 2021 reporting year was implemented in the first quarter of 2022. In August 2022, the figures on changes in the labour market were also revised on the basis of the EEW.
The figures from 2021 onwards are not necessarily comparable to the figures up to and including 2020. Nor can figures for the first quarter of 2021 be calculated for the time being.
New figures will be published in November for the period 2013 to the first quarter of 2021. These figures based on the old EEW have been recalculated to align with the results from 2021 onwards.
