Conventional production areas (data)
Description
The maps presented for the crop-specific cultivation areas were developed in the coordination working group in variety testing at the Association of Chambers of Agriculture. The definition of these growing areas is based on the division of Germany into soil-climate spaces (BKR). The latter was created in close cooperation with the Julius Kühn Institute, Federal Research Institute for Cultivated Plants. Each municipality in Germany is assigned to exactly one soil-climate area. This also results in the unambiguous allocation to the different crop-specific growing areas.
