O3, European air quality data for 2022, (interpolated data), June 2024
Description
The data set provides values for ozone (O3) at 1 km2 grid combining monitoring air quality data in a ‘regression-interpolation-merging mapping’ methodology and the observational values of the air quality monitoring stations used in the interpolation. It covers Europe for the year 2022.
It provides estimates for human health related O3 indicators (93.2 percentile of maximum daily 8-hour means, SOMO35, SOMO10) and vegetation related O3 indicators (AOT40 for vegetation and for forests).
This data set is used to estimate population and vegetation exposure to air pollution, and for the health impact assessments published by the EEA (see, for example, Harm to human health from air pollution in Europe: burden of disease 2023 at https://www.eea.europa.eu/publications/harm-to-human-health-from-air-pollution/harm-to-human-health-from.
