Description
Map of Groundwater Protection Areas and Areas. It defines the measures for the organisation of the territory relating to waters, in accordance with Annex 4 to the Federal Ordinance of 28 October 1998 on the protection of waters, and in particular: — The sectors for the protection of groundwater, i.e. those in which drinking water or water resources of industrial use exploited or exploitable are likely to be altered qualitatively by insufficiently cleaned wastewater flows, mineral oils, chemicals, etc., and quantitatively by excavations, corrections of rivers, etc. These sectors were legalised in 1976; — Groundwater protection zones, defined for the protection of public catchments. These areas are subdivided into zones S1 (capture zone), S2 (close protection zone) and S3 (remote protection zone), Sh (high vulnerability zone for karst capture) and Sm (medium vulnerability zone for karstic capture); — Zu groundwater protection areas, which cover at least 90 % of the catchment feeding area; — Groundwater protection perimeters, which are provisionally delimited (reserve catches or protected areas under consideration). The map is indicative; the detailed plans which can be consulted in the municipalities or at the ENV shall be authentic. The areas are gradually legalised, with public enquiries. All areas, legalised or in preparation, must be taken into account in any administrative decision with a potential impact on groundwater. Public catchments, sources or wells, are also indicated, as well as their flow class The layer also makes it possible to determine areas where phytosanitary treatments are limited for the protection of groundwater. These zones correspond to existing or in preparation water protection zones S1, S2, S3, Sh or Sm, as well as protection perimeters and Zu underground feeding areas.
