Dublin requests; gender, adult or minor, country
Description
This table contains figures on the number of applications received or sent by the Netherlands under the Dublin Regulation for the return or readmission of asylum seekers for the purpose of examining an asylum application. The figures can be broken down by gender, age group (with or without a parent or guardian) and country. The gender and age breakdowns will be available from 2021 onwards.
The Dublin Regulation determines which Dublin country (the European Union, plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland) is responsible for examining an asylum application. The starting point is that an asylum application is processed in one Dublin country, so that successive or simultaneous applications are prevented. A Dublin country may apply for a transfer (Dublin claim) if it considers that another Dublin country should examine an asylum application. If this claim is approved by that Dublin country, the asylum seeker will be transferred to that country within six months.
