Dublin transfers; gender, adult or minor, country
Description
This table contains figures on asylum seekers who have travelled from a Dublin country (the European Union, plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland) to the Netherlands, or from the Netherlands to a Dublin country, for the purpose of examining an asylum application, on the basis of the Dublin Regulation. The figures can be broken down by gender, age group (with or without a parent or guardian) and country. The gender and age breakdowns will be available from 2021 onwards.
The Dublin Regulation determines which Dublin country is responsible for examining an asylum application. The starting point is that an asylum application is processed in one Dublin country, so that successive or simultaneous applications are prevented. A Dublin country may apply for a transfer (Dublin claim) if it considers that another Dublin country should examine an asylum application. If this claim is approved by that country, the asylum seeker will be transferred to this country within six months.
