Mussel seed collection facilities
Description
Plots of land, owned by the State, on which mussel seed collection installations are permitted. A mussel seed collection installation (MZI) is a construction anchored in the ground consisting of ropes and nets, with which mussel brood is trapped in the water column. This mussel spawn (also called mussel seed) is harvested from the construction and further grown into consumption mussels on shellfish plots. This file distinguishes between 3 different types: 1. MZI areas according to the implementation of fisheries scheme 2. MZI parcels issued by Productschap mussels 3. MZI plots of experimenters
