Operational car leasing; price index 2021=100
Description
This table shows the quarterly price development of services provided by car leasing companies, i.e. operating leases of passenger cars, vans and private cars (private leases). Price developments shall be determined on the basis of model prices.
For the model prices, the monthly amounts due for leasing various types of cars under a new contract are requested quarterly from a panel of car leasing companies operating in the Netherlands. A distinction is made between prices including and excluding fuel advance. Costs of financing, maintenance, insurance, road tax, and - in the case of maintenance or repair - costs of a replacement vehicle are included. The moment of observation is the middle month of a quarter. These are so-called concluded contracts for which the lease price is fixed in advance. The price indices in this table all have the index reference year 2021. The annual average, the quarterly change and the annual change have been calculated on the basis of unrounded indices.
The base shift took place as of Q1 2024 (see point 3).

The figures for the most recent quarter are provisional. These figures will become final when the next quarter is published.
Changes as of 23 October 2024:
This table with base year 2021=100 was first published on 15 April 2024. The figures in this table contain incorrect indices for the segments Lease passenger cars and vans and Business lease passenger cars for the period 2001 3rd quarter to 2020 3rd quarter. An error was made in the level of these reversed indices during the basic reversal. Quarter on quarter developments and year on year developments of this period were correct in this table. The weighting factors are not applicable for this period. The figures in the (old) table 2015=100 are also correct.
Changes as of 15 October 2024:
Figures for Q3 2024 have been added. Figures from the previous quarter may have been revised.
When will there be new figures?
New figures will become available about half a month after the end of the reporting quarter.
