Creation of an aerial map of the current vegetation for the Natura 2000 area Ennstaler Alpen National Park Gesäuse
Description
With regard to the extent of the morphological works, which essentially includes G.K. LIEB & G. SEMMELROCK, 1988, as well as W. KOLLMANN, 1983 and the geological work of O. AMPFERER, which is still largely valid to this day, I had to find that this is very sparse for the morphologically manifold mountain area of the Gesäuse Mountains. It should also be noted that G. STUMMER (2011) also mentioned this fact in his work.
This thesis presents part of the geomorphological puzzle of the Gesäuse Mountains. In addition to the creation of detailed explanations regarding the morphology and genesis of the Gesäuse Mountains, the determination of area balances (based on the data material collected here) or the generation of an altitude model for the determination of erosion rates in the dolomiterosion landscapes would be interesting further questions.
Due to the close networking of geomorphology with other sciences and subsciences (vegetation science, soil science, hydrology, but also settlements, alpine farming, etc.), these geomorphological foundations may also be used for other interdisciplinary projects. By means of this thesis I hope to have brought the importance of geomorphology a little closer or even to have aroused interest in this science. But I would be particularly pleased if I could use this work to make a small contribution to the creation of a National Park Gesäuse.
