Immigration and emigration; nationality, age and gender
Description
This table contains figures on immigration and emigration of persons to and from the Netherlands.
The figures for emigration include (where available) the balance of administrative corrections.
The administrative corrections, both withdrawals and disposals, are also shown separately in the table.
Figures on emigration including the balance of administrative corrections give a better picture of actual emigration than figures on emigration excluding these corrections.
The figures in the table can be broken down by sex, age (at 31 December), marital status and nationality.

Final figures for 2023 have been added.
Changes as of 5 March 2024:
None, this is a new table. This table is the successor to the Immi- and emigration table; nationality, age and sex, 1995-2022. See paragraph 3.
The following changes have been made to the discontinued table:
- The main classification Western/non-Western has been replaced by a classification based on continents.
- The nationalities Armenian, Azerbaijani, Georgian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tajik, Turkmen and Turkish are allocated to continental Asia (was Europe);
- By using an improved way of deducing the ‘European Union (excluding Dutch)’, small differences have arisen in the years 2020 and 2021 and ‘Central and Eastern European wets in the EU’ in the year 2013 compared to the discontinued table.
When will there be new figures?
For the time being, only data from 2010 is available in the table. Previous periods will be added to the table at a later date.
In the third quarter of 2025, the final figures for 2024 will be included in this publication.
