Eindhoven is growing. In the coming years, residents and jobs will be added in the city and region. This makes it busier on the street and in traffic. For an accessible, healthy and pleasant living environment, we are working on a car-free center. This means more walking, more cycling and more use of public transport and shared transport. By sharing means of transport, fewer vehicles and parking spaces are needed. In Eindhoven we have gained several years of experience with shared transport. We see an increase in the use of shared transport. But we also see nuisance from, for example, incorrectly parked vehicles. The city is experimenting with hubs. The hub is designed to reduce nuisance from shared transport and to stimulate the use of shared transport. What is a Hub? Simply put, a hub is a place for shared transport.It houses e-share bikes, cargo bikes, scooters and cars. Digital hubs can only be seen in the app of the providers, physical hubs can be recognized in the city. Within the prohibition zone, it is forbidden to park shared vehicles outside the hubs.
