REDIAM. WMS Physionomical Landscape Units for 2009
Description
REDIAM. WMS Service of the Map of Physionomic Units for the year 2009, obtained from the Soil Occupation System of Spain (SIOSE) of the same year. The Physionomic Units (FU) for the year 2009 have been obtained based on the Soil Occupation System of Spain (SIOSE Spain), at a scale of 1/25,000 of the same year. UFs can be understood as the interpretation of the landscape sense of land uses and land cover. They identify recognizable and distinguishable landscapes, based mainly on phenosysthemic issues: texture, arrangement and color etc. Methodologically, they follow the UF derived from the Land Use and Coverage Maps (1959/1999/2003/2007), although the characteristics of the SIOSE have forced a completely different procedure, basing the conversion in percentages of occupancy of each cover in each enclosure. A first statistical analysis and cartographic analysis in the second instance, has finally produced the 36 UF for the indicated year. Recognition scale mapping and semi-detail of the Inventory of landscape resources of the Sierra Morena Andaluza. The methodology lies, although with modifications, in the one established by the Landscape Character Assessment, especially in the concepts of landscape character and in the identification of types and landscape areas at various scales of approach. At the instrumental level, multivariate analysis and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have been used. Landscape identification has been carried out through a supervised and unsupervised classification process, which has allowed a large number of variables, including visual ones, to be considered in an objective and reproducible manner.
