Staff indicator; industries (2008 SBI)
Description
The staff indicator is a mood indicator of the Dutch business community about the number of employees within the company. When assessing the results, it can be assumed that the more optimistic or pessimistic the entrepreneurs are, the more the value of the staff indicator will deviate positively or negatively from the zero line. A positive outcome of the mood indicator indicates an expected increase in the number of employees, a negative outcome indicates a decrease in the number of employees.
The personnel indicator of the total Dutch business sector is a weighted average of the confidence indicators of the underlying industries that together represent the Dutch business sector. The figures can be broken down by economic activity.
The aggregation ‘total (ex. Financial or utilities)’ includes all available sectors requested in the Netherlands Business Survey. Because not every industry is requested monthly, data for this aggregation is only available in the first month of a quarter. The aggregation ‘C industry, H-S services, 45+47’ includes all sectors that are requested monthly and can therefore be seen as a subtotal of the monthly survey.
