Employment participation; regional breakdown 2023
Description
This table contains annual figures on employment in the Netherlands for various regional classifications. The population aged 15 to 75 is divided into the employed, unemployed and non-working population. The working population is further classified on the basis of employment and occupational level. A breakdown by gender, age and level of education is available for the different classifications. The division by municipalities is based on the residential municipalities of 1 January 2023.

Changes as of 14 February 2024:
None, this is a new table. This table has been compiled on the basis of the Occupational Population Survey (EBB). Due to changes in the EBB’s research design and questionnaire, the figures from 2021 and later are not necessarily comparable to the figures until 2020. The key figures in this table have therefore been made consistent with the (non-seasonally adjusted) figures in the Labour Participation table, seasonally adjusted key figures (see paragraph 4), recalculating the results for the period 2013-2020 in order to align with the results from 2021 onwards. In further detailing the results by job and personal characteristics, there may nevertheless be differences between 2020 and 2021 as a result of the new methodology.

Each year in February, a new table with the most recent area classifications is compiled.
