Buying house; owner-occupied expenditure on the purchase and possession of dwellings, 2015-2023
Description
This table describes the price development of homeowners' expenditure on owning a home. The expenditure relates to the purchase of new owner-occupied dwellings, self-build dwellings and former rental dwellings. In addition, the acquisition costs and the ongoing costs for (major) maintenance and building insurance are also included.

Status of figures:
The figures in this table are provisional for one quarter; the sub-series ‘Purchase of former rental property’ and ‘building insurance’ are immediately final.
Since the table has been discontinued, the data are no longer definitive.
Changes as of 6 October 2022:
This statistic shall be calculated on the basis of a European harmonised methodology. Within the European directives, the method for rounding figures has changed. This method change has been implemented with the result that some figures have been adjusted by a maximum of 0.1 index point or 0.1% development. The figures therefore correspond to those on the Eurostat website.
