Description
Cultural heritage areas are of particular interest because a large density of archaeological sites can be found in the areas with a high probability. Archaeological studies prior to construction and earthworks are costly for the developer and also remove irreplaceable cultural heritage. Therefore, together with the archaeological museums, the Danish Agency for Culture has identified a number of areas of interest to create greater consideration of cultural heritage in spatial planning. The cultural heritage areas are not protected, but no grants can be obtained from the Danish Agency for Culture for an archaeological study within a cultural heritage area.
