Persons with pension entitlements; personal data, claims
Description
This table contains figures on the number of persons entitled to a future collective work-related old-age pension, the total accrued gross pension amount in the year under review and the total gross pension amount to be achieved. The data can be broken down by gender, age, marital status, country of origin and country of birth (parents).
In the Netherlands, the pension system consists of three parts, which are called pillars. The first pillar is the collective old-age pension resulting from the General Old Age Act (AOW). The second pillar is the collective work-related old-age pension. The third pillar covers individual products of individuals at insurers or banks. These can be closed to complement (deficiencies in) the first and second pillars.
Data on the first and third pillars are not (yet) included in this table.
In addition to the aforementioned pillars, the assets of individuals such as savings and real estate can be used as retirement provision.
CBS is moving on to a new classification of the population by origin. From now on, it is more decisive where someone was born, in addition to where one’s parents were born. The word ‘migration background’ is no longer used. The main division of Western/Non-Western is replaced by a classification based on continents and common immigration countries. This classification is gradually introduced in tables and publications with population by origin.

The 2020 and 2021 figures are final. The 2022 figures are provisional.

When will there be new figures?
The preliminary figures for the year 2023 will be published in the fourth quarter of 2024.
