Description

This table contains figures on the status of persons entitled to future partner pension and the total gross annual amount of insured partner pension at the end of the reporting year, within the second pillar. In the Netherlands, the pension system consists of three components, the so-called pillars. In these pillars a pension provision can be built up for old age and provision is included in the pillars, which may provide for a benefit for the partner in the event of the death of a person. With regard to the latter benefits, the structure of the pillars is as follows: — The first pillar includes the General Survivors Act (Anw). — In the second pillar, a partner pension can be insured or accrued within employment-related, collective pension schemes. — Finally, under the third pillar, individual products can be purchased from insurers. Think of a life insurance policy or a survivor’s annuity. CBS is moving on to a new classification of the population by origin. From now on, it is more decisive where someone was born, in addition to where one’s parents were born. The word ‘migration background’ is no longer used. The main division of Western/Non-Western is replaced by a classification based on continents and common immigration countries. This classification is gradually introduced in tables and publications with population by origin. Data available from: 2020. Status of the figures The figures from 2020 to 2021 are final. The 2022 figures are provisional. Changes as at 31-01-2024 None, this is a new table. This table is the successor to the table Persons with benefits insured partner pension; personal data, claims, 2017-2021. See paragraph 3. When will there be new figures? The preliminary figures for the year 2023 will be published in the fourth quarter of 2024.
