Number of aircraft certified for traffic by the Federal Aviation Office in Germany
Description
Aircraft, helicopters, balloons, motor sailors or sailplanes are entered in the aircraft register by the Federal Aviation Office’s traffic licence. Aircraft shall be given their registration number. German aircraft, helicopters, airships, motor sailors and manned balloons carry the Federal flag and the letter D as national signs and four further letters as a special marking (registration mark). The licensing of air sports equipment, such as ultralight aircraft and model aircraft, is carried out by the aeronautical associations.
