Old description: Shrubs of very different nature and physiognomy, typical of warm climates, more commonly dry, which occupy all types of substrates. They can be a stage of substitution or constitute permanent vegetation where the climate becomes more demanding due to aridity. Among the communities of this habitat we find: retamares characterized by Genista jimenezii, retamares characterized by Genista ramosissima, tomillares characterized by Sideritis ibanyezii and Teucrium lanigerum, retamares characterized by Genista spartioides var. retamoides and Retama sphaerocarpa, aulagares characterized by Ulex canescens, lentiscares with Bupleurum gilbraltaricum, spines of Calicotome villosa, bojedas of Buxus balearica, retamares of Retama monosperma, scrub formations dominated by Teline linifolia, Teline monspessulana, Cytisus striatus subsp. welwitschii and Cytisus baeticus, romerales-tomillares characterized by Lavandula lanata and Thymus zygis subsp. gracilis, pyornales of Lavandula lanata (alhucema) and Thymus zygis subsp. gracilis, scobonales of Genista spartioides and Lavandula dentata, coscojares-lentiscares-acebuchales thermophiles and mesophiles, etc. At the level of fauna they can be characterized by their richness in reptiles.
