Description
This cartography allows us to know how the population is distributed within the cities under study. The process of elaboration has consisted in obtaining the polygons where there are residential uses, for this they have been eliminated from the polygonal base, the schools, churches industries ... etc. In the case of buildings in height, where on the ground floor non-residential activities are carried out (shops, workshops, bars ... etc.) it has been considered that residential use prevails and these polygons have been considered as such. Subsequently, the population values have been assigned (based on the population information by Census Section for the year 2005) according to the surface area and average height of each polygon for residential use, following a criterion of proportionality in three dimensions, that is, the largest inhabited polygons of each Census Section, higher population values have been attributed to them according to their surface area and height. The following municipalities have been analysed: Algeciras, Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Dos Hermanas, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Jerez de la Frontera, Marbella, Málaga and Seville.
