Loneliness; personal characteristics
Description
This table contains figures on loneliness of persons aged 15 and over. These data can be broken down by gender, age, origin, highest educational attainment, household position, urbanity of the municipality, income group based on standardised disposable household income, experienced health and contacts with family, friends and neighbors.
This research uses the abbreviated version of the Loneliness Scale by De Jong Gierveld (De Jong Gierveld and Van Tilburg, 2006). This scale approaches loneliness as a multi-dimensional understanding, distinguishing between social and emotional loneliness.
