Description
For the management of surface waters there is a priority water setting in Schleswig-Holstein. This includes, among other things, the most ecologically valuable lakes or those with the best development potential for achieving objectives under the EC WFD.
For the selection of priority lakes, all 73 Schleswig-Holstein lakes subject to reporting were taken into account, as well as some lakes of less than 50 ha, which were reported as FFH habitat type. Among the 73 reporting lakes, 23 were selected as priority waters to plan and implement necessary measures.
