Landscape structures of the south Millevaches plateau — Limousin
Description
Analysis of landscape units in the southern half of the Regional Natural Park of Millevaches in Limousin.
DREAL Limousin decided to initiate a more in-depth study in 2010
on the correzian landscape entities, recognised in the charter of the Regional Natural Park
(PNR) Millevaches en Limousin:
— the Monedières
— sources
— the valleys of Haute-Corrèze
— the Eygurande Plateau in Flayat
In this study, DREAL proposed to map more “locally” landscapes for
determine landscape units, sometimes broken down into sub-units according to recognition
popular or the presence of an iconic pattern.
The identification of these units and sub-units is the result of structural analysis and workshops
themes led by the NRP Millevaches.
Thus, this study aims to increase the recognition of landscape units and proposes
an organised reading on:
— the identification of spatial structures through a morpho-geographical approach,
— the recognition of joint structures,
and finally, the landscape perception.
