Görtschitztal - Studies on humans and the environment
Description
The Federal Environment Agency has compiled and interpreted all available monitoring results for the occurrence of hexachlorobenzene in the Görtschitztal valley since 2014. Recommendations for future environmental monitoring and human biomonitoring in the Görtschitztal are derived from the data analyses and findings. The analysis of the data collected up to 2017 shows that the measures taken and the dietary recommendations are effective. Soil concentrations of HCB are largely on a scale that does not suggest any adverse effects on food production. Organic farming is also possible without restrictions. The continuation of food and feed controls to a reduced extent makes sense in order to identify any increased burdens in good time. In the event of any suspicions, monitoring should be compressed.
