Description
Monitoring and evaluation indicator of the diffuse attenuation coefficient (k490) from images obtained by the OrbView-2 and AQUA series satellites. The diffuse attenuation coefficient in water indicates how strong the light inside the water column is attenuated. This parameter has many applications in ocean optics, such as its relationship to the concentration of phytoplankton and dissolved organic and inorganic sediments in seawater.
