Description
The Ministry of Finance publishes data on the debt of the municipalities regulated in Article 3 of the Municipal Debt Act, the data being from the Central Register of Municipal Debt. The data are generated by the Municipal Debt Register system, which is a module of the Municipal Information System. The information in the register shall be entered by authorised municipal persons in accordance with the procedure and within the time limit set by the Minister of Finance — upon occurrence of a circumstance of debt or at the latest by the 10th day after the end of the reporting month.
Concepts and definitions:
The municipality is the main administrative-territorial unit in which local self-government is carried out in accordance with the Local Self-Government and Local Administration Act. The municipality is a budgetary organisation and the mayor is the primary budget usher under the Public Finance Act.
The amount of residual debt shall be the principal amount of debt due at the relevant reporting period.
