Rural Land Use Netherlands - LGN2022
Description
LGN2022 is a grid file that shows the Dutch land use in 2022 with a spatial resolution of 5m. The stock has 51 land use classes distinguishing the main agricultural crops, forest, water, nature and urban classes. The following files were used to create LGN2022: Top10NL (version November 2022), Basic Registration Parcels 2022 (BRP2022), File Soil Use 2017 (BBG2017), Information Model Nature 2021 (IMNa2021), General Height file Netherlands (AHN3/4). In addition, satellite images (in particular Sentinel-2) and aerial photographs from 2022 were used in the classification of nature. The LGN2022 file was delivered on 24 July 2023. New LGN classes compared to LGN2020 are solar parks and a subdivision of the old LGN class 25 ‘Roads and railways’ into three subclasses. Compared to LGN2021, there are no changes in classes. All LGN classes are unambiguously defined based on unique combinations of classes from 12 different files or masks.
An LGN update reflecting the land use of the previous reference year shall be delivered before 1 September each year. For example, the land use stock (LGN2023) for the reference year 2023 will be delivered by 1 September 2024.
