LKT50 Lithofazieskarten Tertiary 1 : 50 000
Description
For the north-west Saxon lignite region around Leipzig, six sheets (2465 Bitterfeld, 2466 Eilenburg, 2666 Mittweida, 2566 Wurzen, 2565 Leipzig, 2665 Zeitz) are used to compile horizon and lithofazies maps for the entire tertiary strata. The tertiary is represented in 8 horizon maps as a layered sequence. The map book, which is compiled for northwestern Saxony, also includes quaternary base and pretertiary maps as well as mining maps and regional sections. Together with the "Lithofazieskarte Quartär 1 : 50 000 (LKQ 50)" and the "Map of the Ice Age Covered Areas of Saxony GK 50" are available for the first time for the Loose Mountains of northwestern Saxony a uniform map set in complete sequence including surface and base maps as well as maps of the pretertiary subsoil.
