Description
A water body is a unit of water management planning as defined in the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC). Water bodies and their catchment areas shall consist of water zones.
A water body is an important and identifiable part of the water, which is determined for the purpose of monitoring the status of waters and maintaining and achieving the target water status. The procedures for the designation of water bodies are determined by the regulations laid down in the Waters Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 67/02 and Rev.).
A groundwater body is an important and identifiable part of groundwater within one or more aquifers. Groundwater bodies are determined by the Rules on the designation of groundwater bodies (UL RS No 63/05) on the basis of geological, hydrological, pedological properties of aquifers and data on land use and anthropogenic pressures.
