Image-based Digital Surface Model – BDOM
Description
The digital surface model (BDOM) is a point cloud reduced to a regular grid in which heights and shapes of the earth’s surface, including its structures and vegetation, are depicted. In addition, the grid points of the BDOM bear an RGB color information corresponding to that of the corresponding orthophoto. BDOM data represent the situation at the time of acquisition, i.e. the flight day. The detection times vary, e.g. water level levels or surface vegetation within a project area can vary. The dot grid width of the current DOM product is 20 cm. An update of the nationwide BDOM product takes place in the cycle of country flight (currently three years). The data is provided free of charge via automated procedures or by self-absorption. When using the data, the license terms must be observed.
