Health expenditure internally. comparable; Functions, providers, 1998-2022
Description
This table shows the expenditure on health care used by residents of the Netherlands in a year. Health care is defined according to the international definition of the System of Health Accounts. The figures are therefore internationally comparable with publications by Eurostat, OECD and WHO. All activities of health care count, regardless of whether they take place within or outside the health care sector.
The figures are derived from the statistics on healthcare expenditure, which include more activities, such as youth care, welfare work, social services and childcare. These statistics also include exports (expenditure for and by non-residents).

Status of figures:
Figures for 2021 and 2022 are further provisional. As this table has been discontinued, the figures are no longer definitive. Figures for the remaining years are final.

When will there be new figures?
No longer applicable. The table has been discontinued and is followed by table 'Health expenditure internationally comparable; functions, providers' (see paragraph 3). Revised figures have been published in the new table. New data sources were processed and the most up-to-date statistical insights were applied.
