Assistance payments; benefit base, regions
Description
This table provides insight into the number of benefits to households under the Work and Assistance Act (WWB, until 2014) and the Participation Act (from 2015), broken down by benefit base and region.
The benefits (living allowance) to persons in an institution, those cared for elsewhere, are not included. Benefits to the homeless are also not included.
A benefit to a couple is counted as one benefit to two people. In the case of a couple, the age of the oldest person counts.
A distinction is made between benefits to persons who have not yet reached the AOW pension age and benefits to persons who have reached the AOW pension age.
The regional classification is based on the municipality that provides the assistance.
Data available as of January 2011.
Status of figures:
The figures up to December 2023 are final. The figures for the last three months are provisional.
Exceptionally: the figures for January 2024 are provisional and will be updated at the next publication.

- Provisional figures for April 2024 are added.
When will there be new figures?
The provisional figures for May 2024 come in July 2024.
