Transverse structures and fish ladders
Description
Improving biological continuity in watercourses is part of the overall package "Improving the hydromorphological water situation" and contributes to the implementation of the EC Water Framework Directive (WFD). The State Office for the Environment (LfU) has carried out a Bavarian-wide data collection. A good 58,000 transverse structures (weirs, sole structures, culverts, piping) as well as fish ladders have been recorded and evaluated in the water framework directive network that is subject to reporting requirements. The data can be accessed in the UmweltAtlas Bayern - thematic area of water management - or as a WMS service.
