Sick leave according to employees; working conditions

Description

This table provides data on sick leave of workers aged 15 to 75, by working conditions. This also includes employees who are employed but do not perform work due to illness, maternity leave or other temporary career breaks. The sick leave rate according to employees is broken down by the following characteristics: - Working conditions, such as work pace and unfavourable working posture; - Unwanted behaviour at work, such as employees facing harassment; Psychic fatigue from work. As of the reporting year 2022, the way in which data for the NEA were collected and processed differs in some respects from previous reporting years. As a result, the figures from 2022 may not be comparable in all cases with the figures up to 2021. More information is available in the NEA 2022 study description (see paragraph 4). All figures are based on at least 100 observations. The sick leave rate according to employees is broken down by the following characteristics: - working conditions, such as work pace and unfavourable working posture; - victimisation, such as, for example, employees facing harassment; Psychic fatigue from work. Data available from: 2014. Status of figures: The figures in this table are final. Changes as of 17 April 2024: The annual figures for 2023 have been added. Changes as of 18 April 2023: The annual figures for 2022 have been added. In 2022, the question of working with hazardous substances was changed. As a result of these changes, the figures on this subject from 2022 onwards are not comparable with the figures from previous years (2014-2021). Figures on the old topic ‘Dangerous substances (until 2022)’ will no longer be supplemented as of 2022. The question of victimization at work has also changed. As a result of these changes, the figures on this subject from 2022 onwards are not comparable with the figures from previous years (2014-2021). Figures on the old topic ‘Slaughter at work (until 2022)’ will no longer be supplemented as of 2022. Furthermore, a new topic ‘determine workplace’ was added in 2022. Despite the care with which this publication has been compiled, some imperfections have been found afterwards. For example, the figures for the topic ‘physical violence by managers or colleagues’ for the years 2014 to 2018 were missing and the figure for the topic ‘No bullying by managers or colleagues’ for 2017 was incorrect. This has now been adjusted. Finally, confidence intervals have been added to the table and the minimum number of observations for publication has been changed from 200 to 100. Changes as of 20 April 2021 An improvement has been made to the naming of one topic. This is now referred to as ‘Psychological fatigue due to work’. Until 2021, this was still referred to as ‘Burn-out complaints’. Changes as of 29 August 2019 The 2018 figures relating to the subject ‘dangerous work (from 2018)’ were incorrect. Due to a technical problem during the observation, not all responses from respondents were counted. These figures have now been corrected. Changes as of 11 April 2019 The annual figures for 2018 have been added. In 2018, the question of hazardous work changed. For any kind of hazardous work, the frequency is asked. This determines whether workers are exposed to at least one form of hazardous work: ‘Dangerous work (as of 2018)’. As a result of these changes, the figures on this subject from 2018 onwards are not comparable with the figures from previous years (2014-2017). Figures on the old topic ‘Dangerous work (until 2018)’ will no longer be completed from 2018 onwards, as will the topic ‘Non-dangerous work’. When will there be new figures? Figures for the previous year shall be published by May at the latest. The table will be discontinued in Q4 2024 and replaced by a new one.
