Physical workload workers; industry
Description
This table contains data on the physical working conditions of the Dutch employee aged 15 to 75, by sectors of activity (SBI 2008). The table presents figures on force setting, noise and vibration, hazardous work and hazardous substances, working posture and VDU work.
As of the reporting year 2022, the way in which data for the NEA were collected and processed differs in some respects from previous reporting years. As a result, the figures from 2022 may not be comparable in all cases with the figures up to 2021. More information is available in the NEA 2022 study description (see paragraph 4).
All figures are based on at least 100 observations.

Changes as of 17 April 2024:
The annual figures for 2023 have been added.

The annual figures for 2022 have been added.
In 2022, the question of working with hazardous substances was changed. These figures can be found in the new topic folder ‘Hazardous substances (from 2022)’. As a result of these changes, the figures on this subject from 2022 onwards are not comparable with the figures from previous years (2014-2021). Figures on the old topic ‘Dangerous substances (until 2022)’ will no longer be supplemented as of 2022.
Finally, confidence intervals have been added to the table and the minimum number of observations for publication has been changed from 200 to 100.
Changes as of 29 August 2019
The 2018 figures relating to the subject ‘dangerous work (from 2018)’ were incorrect. Due to a technical problem during the observation, not all responses from respondents were counted. These figures have now been corrected.
Changes as of 11 April 2019
In 2018, the question of hazardous work changed. For any kind of hazardous work, the frequency is asked. From this it is inferred whether workers are exposed to at least one form of hazardous work. These figures can be found in the new topic folder ‘Dangerous work (as of 2018)’. As a result of these changes, the figures on this subject from 2018 onwards are not comparable with the figures from previous years (2014-2017). Figures on the old topic ‘Dangerous work (until 2018)’ will not be completed from 2018 onwards.
When will there be new figures?
Figures for the previous year shall be published by May at the latest.
