NP3_2022 Analysed fishing intensity 2018
Description
The static theme. Displays data for the final Natura 2000 plan 2022, which is the revised Natura 2000 baseline analysis 2022-2027 underpinning the 2021 consultation of the Natura 2000 plans 2022-2027.
The theme shows an analysis of the fishing intensity with bottom contacting gears in squares of 100x100m based on position data for Danish fishing vessels. The intensity tells how many times the seabed in each square has potentially been affected by fishing gear in 2018. The map is made using different types of position data (VMS, AIS, Black Box) with varying precision and recording efficiency, where position data is at a given speed of the vessel, where it is assumed that fishing can take place. The analysis shows how many times the square could potentially have been affected by fishing during the period. The intensity is calculated as the swept area ratio (SAR) by dividing the total potential net impact of the period in each square (footprint measured in m2) by the area of the square (10,000 m2).
