Berwickshire & North Northumberland Coast Intertidal Mud and Sand Flats Assessment
Description
Marine Ecological Surveys Limited (MESL) was commissioned by Natural England to conduct an intertidal monitoring survey of the Berwickshire and North Northumberland (BNNC) Special Area of Conservation (SAC) specifically looking at the intertidal mud and sand flats. The survey was undertaken by MESL between the 29th August and the 7th September, 2015 and involved Phase I mapping and Phase II sampling of the intertidal mud and sand flats found throughout the site. The study focuses on a number of embayments found within the site, which include Embleton Bay, Beadnell Bay, Budle Bay, Fenham Flats, Holy Island Sands, Ross Back Sands, Cheswick Sands and Goswick Sands.
