Description
The Holocene base area represents a complete innovation for areas with a water depth of more than 10 m in its current extent. Compared to the Holocene base map of about 7,100 km2 created by Figge (1980), a much larger area of now 31,650 km2 is covered. The width map shows the width and distribution of the Holocene in the offshore area between the sea surface (bathymetry) and the base area of the Holocene at 2 m intervals.
