INTEMARES: Dive points of the NIS_LIC_MENORCA_0721 campaign
Description
The information contained in this data set corresponds to the diving points of the biodiversity censuses carried out between June 30 and July 14 in the NIS_LIC_MENORCA_0721 campaign, with the aim of mapping the presence, abundance and distribution of Indigenous and Invasive Species (AIS) in the SCI of the Menorca channel, as well as the set of species present in the different sampled habitats (Posidonia meadows and rocky infralittoral).
This is the representation of the spatial distribution of the sampling points along the coasts of Mallorca and Menorca that are within the SCI of the Menorca Canal (SCI ESZZ16002)
It is a data set composed of point elements, where each element represents a dive station.
Each object is associated with a series of alphanumeric variables such as the dive ID, the transect number, the date, the island, the location, the area, the coordinates, the roughness, the slope, the temperature, the visibility, the maximum and minimum depth and the orientation (direction in which the sampling was carried out from the starting point, this being each of the coordinates).
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
These works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
