Austria's Annual Greenhouse Gas Inventory 1990-2006
Description
In its report “Austria's annual greenhouse gas inventory 1990-2006”, the Federal Environment Agency presents the latest developments in greenhouse gas emissions in Austria. The amount of greenhouse gas emissions in 2006 is 91.1 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent. This represents a reduction of 2.2 million tonnes or 2.3% compared to 2005 and an increase of 15.1% compared to the 1990 Kyoto base year. Driving forces compared to 2005 are the reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in the transport, energy generation and space heating sectors. The English report follows in format and content the mandatory requirements of the EU greenhouse gas monitoring system 280/2004/EC for the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol. It enshrines the annual transmission of updated greenhouse gas emission data to the European Commission on 15 January.
