Building heritage (Built environment site inventories)
Description
The building inventory collects basic information on the built environment of the area. The aim is to collect comprehensive inventory data at least for all buildings built before the 1940s. The inventory examines the appearance of the buildings, the representativeness of the antiquarian preservation, and the settlement history of the site/region. All inventoried villages and other clear area entities, such as crofts or industrial areas, are subject to area inventories. Both the site and area inventories contain a summary of the characteristics and cultural-historical value. These summaries have been exported to geographic information and southwestern information. In total, the inventory data is stored at the Provincial Museum of Southwest Finland. The aim is to produce comprehensive data for the entire region of Southwest Finland. The material was produced at the Provincial Museum of Southwest Finland in cooperation with the municipalities and the Regional Council of Southwest Finland.
