Data for the 2020/2021 budget of the City of Frankfurt am Main
Description
The obligation to draw up a budget arises from § 95 of the Hessian Municipal Code (HGO). It serves as a basis for the municipal budget management and authorises the magistrate to pay expenses and disbursements and to enter into commitments. According to § 101 HGO, the budget is divided into a profit and financial planning. The investment programme is part of the financial planning. The 2020/2021 budget includes the years 2020 to 2023 in the financial programming.
The 2020/2021 budget was adopted as a double budget by the City Council of Frankfurt am Main. The supervisory authority has approved the obligatory assessments for the 2020 financial year. In order to take into account the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the approval of the budget rules for the financial year 2021 was deferred until a revised budget rules were subsequently submitted. The 2020/2021 budget therefore became final only for the 2020 financial year.
