Enterprise architecture for museums’ collection management 1.0
Description
The overall architecture of museums’ collection management 1.0 has been compiled as part of the Museum 2015 project, a working group of museum professionals and other experts. Architecture is a summary of the data of the museums represented in the working group and is further developed. In the future, it is essential to take into account more extensively the different forms, collections, ownership bases and systems of museums. The enterprise architecture has focused on areas where the introduction of which promotes the uniform functionality of museums’ collection management. The principles of architecture are well suited to the strategy work of museums. In addition, museums are free to utilise and apply in their own architectural descriptions the process descriptions of the enterprise architecture of collection management and the tables used for listing various information resources. The publication is primarily aimed at museum professionals and information management professionals working in collection management. The lists of information resources and systems compiled in the enterprise architecture illustrate what kind of information there is in museums and what kind of tools it is used to manage. (15.3.2013)
