Indicative Map of Archaeological Values (IKAW)
Description
The Indicative Map of Archaeological Values (IKAW) contains a flat-covering and land-covering classification of the chance of impact on archaeological remains. This probability is based on a quantitative analysis and on archaeological knowledge of the contents of the soil archive.
The map gives a global picture of the chance of impact on archaeological remains in the soil and underwater. This probability is indicated per area of 50 by 50 meters by one of the categories: ‘high’, ‘medium’, ‘low’ or ‘very low’ probability of impact, or: ‘not carded’.
