Description
Digital terrain models (DGM) describe the terrain surface as the interface between the solid earth body and the water on the one hand and the air on the other. They are digital, numerical models of terrain heights and shapes. The terrain surface is modeled by a representative three-dimensional dot set. In addition to regularly distributed elevation points (DGM grids), structural elements can be included in the DGM in the form of terrain lines and special terrain points.
