Description
This map indicates the location, the type of field and the status of the fields: in production, out of production, or undeveloped. The status of the fields is the most socially relevant. Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is part of climate plans to reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. For this purpose, CO2 is captured and pumped into empty, produced, oil and gas fields. Undeveloped fields could potentially be put into production in the future, including the associated above-ground installations and infrastructure. Such activities depend on political decisions and, according to the Mining Act, fall under the responsibility of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK). The data is managed by the Geological Survey of the Netherlands of TNO on behalf of EZK on the website http://www.nlog.nl
