Description
Popularly speaking about bomb map, the official name is OO soil tax map. OO stands for Explosive War remnants. This includes a wide range of explosives, from land and sea mines to smoke grenades and aircraft bombs.
On the basis of historical research, it has been mapped out which acts of war in the Second World War (including bombing) took place on the current territory of the municipality of Amsterdam. Of these acts of war, it was then examined whether there is a risk that there will still be OO in the subsurface. From a large number of events it has been established that there is no reason to believe that there are still OO in the subsurface. The areas where there is an increased risk of explosive remnants of war in the subsurface are marked as suspicious areas. This may be important when working in the subsoil from working conditions and/or public order and safety.
The bomb card can be divided into the following categories:
1. Suspicious areas (areas where possible OO are present)
2. Impact/crash sites/deposited explosives/blind goers
3. Freed areas (after detection investigation (partially) released suspicious area)
